McCallister - Hattie Lough

Darlington - Mrs. Hattie F. McCallister, 90, of Rt. 1, Darlington, died suddenly about 8 a.m. Saturday. She died at the residence of a son, Ralph, with whom she had made her home since 1942. She attended school in Boone and Hendricks counties and resided in Indianapolis for 35 years before moving to her son's home about 3 1/2 mile east of here on Indiana 47. Born Jan 29, 1876, she was a daughter of Samuel and Charlotte Yelton Lough. She was married Jan 14, 1897 in Crawfordsville to Fred McCallister. They started housekeeping in Crawfordsville while Mr. McCallister attended Wabash College. He later became a judge at Indianapolis. Mrs. McCallister attended the North Methodist Church at Indianapolis. Survivors include the son at whose home she died and another son, David Vance McCallister of Seattle; two daughtesr, Mrs. Jack Hulse of San Antonio, NM and Mrs. Milton W. Callon of Denver; three half brothers, Clarence W. Lough of Bakersfield, Calif; Orville Lough of Rt. 1, Darlington, and Ben M. Lough of Crawfordsville; six grandchildren and 11 greats. She was preceded in death by her husband who died Dec 28, 1927; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral rites are set for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Bright Funeral Home in Darlington where friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday, Rev. Robert Hansen will officiate with interment in Shannondale Cemetery. kbz
